We’re still smiling after Governor Meyer’s presentation of the 2026 state budget, where he dedicated $5 million to fines and fees reform. This investment is a major step forward and the result of years of sustained advocacy, grassroots organizing, and relentless calls for fund stabilization and ability-to-pay protections.
But we’re not across the finish line yet. HB 132 and HB 133 are closer than ever, and now is the moment to keep the pressure on. Lawmakers need to hear—loud and clear—that Delawareans are watching and expect bold action.
Join us on February 19th for a Fines and Fees Day of Action and help push these critical reforms over the line. Together, we can turn this momentum into lasting change.
